Sayers Croft Holiday

Hounslow PHAB club holiday was taken at the end of August at an Outdoor Activity Centre called Sayers Croft. This is an old evacuee station from the last war, owned by Westminster council (and inner London area), but is situated near Guilford in Surrey, about 25 miles from London. Just over twenty of us went, and spent Monday to Friday on a variety of activities ranging from horse riding to boating, shelter building to aerial rope courses. Most of the pictures need no caption, except to say that many of the young people with us have some form of disability, though this is not always apparent in the photos. This may be because many people assume that someone climbing an artificial rock wall, or standing up to their chest in muddy water building a bridge is able bodied. This is the great strength of our group; we all take part regardless of ability, some simply need more support than others

.

Piracy on the high seas!

Keeping a low centre of gravity really helps on this set.

The landing party successfully back on dry land after all crossing the bridge. No-one gets home dry in this sort of event - even if they have to be thrown in.

Surprisingly few got wet on the lake, though those that did got very wet indeed
